This composition contains all the key ingredients which togtherly works by treating cough. They cause widening of the blood vessels and thins the loosen mucus or makes breathing easy, provide cooling sensation and treats throat irritation.

Ambroxal is secretolytic agent and is used for the treatment of respiratory diseases. It restores the natural physiological clearance mechanism of the respiratory tract

Guaiphenesin belongs to the class of expectorant and helps to loosens the phlegm via decreasing surface tension.

Terbutaline belongs to the class of beta-2 adrenergic blocker and has stimulating effect on the vascular effect on the bronchial tracts and uterus.

Menthol is anti-tussive agent and mainly used in lozenges and cough syrups as to supress coughing and provides cooling sensation.

Mechanism of Action-

Ambroxal blocks the nitric oxide activation because cGMP accumulation stimulated by adenyl cyclase with the help of nitric oxide causes alteration or disturbances in the airway function therefore by blocking it lowers the viscosity of mucus.
Guaiphenesin irritates the gastric vagal receptors and evokes the efferent parasympathetic reflexes thus elicit exocytosis which contains the mixture of the thin mucus.
Terbutaline works by catalysing the conversion of ADP to cyclic 3’5 monophosphate and thus increases accumulation of cAMP causes relaxation of bronchial smooth muscles and prevent the release of any inflammatory mediator.
Menthol also works as anaesthetic and helps to provide relief from the sore throat and makes the throat cooler and provide relief from nasal congestion.
Common side effect of the product includes:
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhoea
  • Vomiting
  • Stomach discomfort
  • Tremors
  • Increased in heart rate
The product should not to be used in the following conditions:
  • Contraindicated in ischaemic heart disease
  • Contraindicated in gastric ulcers
Following drugs may interact with the combination:
  • Fluticasone
  • Levofloxacin
